Frequently Asked Questions

GENERAL

  • All projects are set up as follows:

    • Project booking deposit of 30%: Due upon contract signing to book your project on the calendar with a project start date. This deposit is non-refundable.

    • Project build start payment of 30%: Due on or before project build start date.

    • Project end payment of 40%: Due on or before project end date prior to final files being delivered or, in the case of a website, before the site is connected to your domain and ownership is transferred to you.

  • This is totally dependent on what your priorities are. I’m happy to consult with you to help you determine which services will help you meet your goals and timing that works for you.

  • Revision rounds depend on the particular service item. Each item lists how many revision rounds are included on the details page. My aim is for you to be pleased with the final result.

  • I sure can! My Landmark author branding package is the best fit for this service. However, if you prefer to source a logo on your own, I can help to recommend options for you to do that.

  • I will provide limited support immediately after a project as noted on the detail pages. However, I’m always available to help you on a one-off basis at either an hourly rate or as a VIP half- or full-day depending on what you need.

  • We can save your project time on my calendar and give you the lead time you need to be ready before your project start date. Your start date will depend on many factors, but we’ll get you started as soon as we can!

WEBSITES

  • I build on Squarespace because it’s a robust platform in its offerings as well as being easy to edit and update for users. There is a learning curve for anyone with any website builder, but I believe Squarespace has the most to offer.

  • Yes, you will need all content for your website ready before your project start date. I have helpful Page Planners for you use to decide what content you need. I will help with strategic placement of content based on your goals.

  • That is totally up to your discretion. We can curate relevant images from free stock photo websites to get started. You can always update images anytime. If you’re planning to get new photos done, you will need to have them ready before we start the project. Or you can add them yourself at a later date.

  • You won’t need to know how to code. It’s likely that we use some CSS custom coding on your website. I will provide information outlining what it’s used for and how you can easily make changes if you want to.

  • I am happy to advise you on options for purchasing a domain.

  • You will be set up in a client portal which allows us to communicate via a private messenger, see project tasks, and easily share draft and final files. Any images that are used on your website will be available in the Assets folder of the site.

BOOKS

  • I work in Adobe InDesign for book interiors and cover layouts for a professional outcome. I have access to the full Adobe Font library.

  • Yes, you will need your manuscript to be final before your project start date. If you need help with editing too, we will do that work before the design project starts.

  • Yes, anything you want to use for the design should be ready before we start the project. However, if you need help with image edits or curation of stock images, we can discuss adding that to the project and how it affects the timeline.

  • I am happy to advise you on getting your new book files into your author account. Sometimes Amazon will reject a file upload (for various reasons) which will need fixing. I want to make sure you get it published!

  • You will be set up in a client portal which allows us to communicate via a private messenger, see project tasks, and easily share draft and final files.

BRAND

  • I work in Adobe Illustrator for logo design for a professional outcome. I have access to the full Adobe Font library. I also use Canva Pro for access to graphics and to create social media mockups.

  • Be ready to brainstorm! I’ll have you complete a questionnaire and a quiz to help me with the brand direction. You’ll also create a “mood board” in Pinterest to get us started. The only additional things would be if you already have some brand assets that you want to be sure to incorporate.

  • You will be set up in a client portal which allows us to communicate via a private messenger, see project tasks, and easily share draft and final files.
